Miscellaneous papers relating to Fluxus from the Ellsworth Snyder Collection, ca. 1964-ca. 1987.

A collection of fourteen printed items regarding Fluxus performances and events. The collection includes six announcements or flyers, two posters, one silk-screen (and original shipping enclosure), one postcard, one pamphlet, one musical score and lithograph, a double-sided lithograph, and a set of two offset lithographs with printed enclosure. Most notable are pieces by, and for, some of the principal and founding figures of Fluxus: Henry Flynt, Dick Higgins, George Maciunas, Jim McWilliams, Charlotte Moorman, and Nam June Paik. The collection includes a poster announcing Nam June Paik's groundbreaking "Electronic Video Recorder," the first ever video art performance (May 4th and 11th, 1965), a limited edition musical score by Dick Higgins, and the 1000 yen note lithograph by Gempei Akasegawa. Other artists represented in the collection are Ay-o, Yoko Ono, Takako Saito, and the collaborative Hi Red Center. The collection comes from the Ellsworth Snyder archive. A composer, pianist, artist and teacher, Ellsworth Snyder was a student and longtime friend of Fluxus composer John Cage.
